ICCC Chair David Prentice was invited to give an update on the Committee’s work programme at three conferences in late June. He presented to the:

  • Electrical Engineers’ Association conference in Auckland on 25 June
  • Institute of Public Works Engineering NZ conference in Wellington on 27 June
  • Climate Change and Local Government Forum (organised by SOLGM) in Christchurch on 28 June.

In his presentation (available here [PDF, 1.3 MB]), David outlined the role of the independent Climate Change Commission envisaged in the Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Bill, and the Committee’s current work on preparing the ground work for the Commission. He commented briefly on the Committee’s earlier work on electricity and agriculture. The final reports were delivered to Government on 30 April. The Government intends to release them, together with their response, in due course.
